Kevin has been able to remain off of the trach. He could do damage to his esophagus by continuing to pull it out. Therefore, the goal is to be able to keep him off of it. Because it has been removed sooner than they like, he is more at risk for developing infections like bronchitis. Please pray that he remains infection free. He had an EEG, and the results were good. His brain is continuing to heal. He still wants to sleep a lot and when he is awake he doesn't always respond as well as they would like. Please continue to pray for peace for Kevin as he becomes more aware of his surroundings.
Thanks,
Karin

So glad Kevin is off the trach. I'm also glad you explained that there are many stages of brain trauma injuries. Prayers are with all of you. Harlan has been keeping my husband and I up to date. What a wonderful family you have. A true blessing to Kevin "on his road to recovery". This blog is wonderful for so many of us who just want to check in and see how this young man is doing and how Sarah is doing. Thank you.
