Dear Friends,
I realized I haven't posted an update since before Kevin's appointment with the new doctor on June 16. The appointment went well. However, she will not be his new doctor, at least not at the present. She recommended he continue his care with Dr. Prasad who has been seeing him since he first came to Centre for Neuro Skills. She did recommend Kevin have a few things done before he is declared "permanent and stationary" (permanent and stationary is a term Worker's Comp. uses to say they have done all they believe they can do to get the patient as good as they can). The doctor recommended Kevin have a neuropsychological evaluation. I don't know what all that entails. She recommended he have an ENG to determine whether he has something she called central vestibulapathy, a condition that is contributing to his imbalance. However, if I understood her correctly, there is really nothing that can be done for it. She also recommended he see an internist as well as an endocrinologist. Our next family conference is July 18 and hopefully some of these things will be in the works.
Kevin still hasn't received his new glasses. Not sure what the holdup is.
Kevin and Sarah just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary this past Sunday and they were able to take a few days off. They went up North to visit with Sarah's family and then came home through Monterey and spent Sunday evening where they honeymooned.
Kevin is in full swing with his summer semester at Coastline College and OCTA (Orange Co. Transit Authority) has been very good at picking him up on time each morning and returning him home each afternoon.
Could you all be in prayer with us for the following?:
1. Pray that Worker's Comp. will agree to the recommendations the doctor prescribed before Kevin is declared "permanent and stationary".
2. That God will provide for Kevin and Sarah's financial needs.
3. That his glasses would arrive soon and be beneficial.
4. That we will all be patient as we trust God for Kevin's future.
I hope all of you enjoy your day off. I will be cooking as all the kids are coming for dinner. God's blessings to all of you and Happy 4th of July!
Love,
Tami
